Teddy
was one of our most lovable puppies. No one could resist his charm
and good looks. He was a wonderful companion, an excellent guardian,
and a hard worker. He only got better with age!
Exhibited as a puppy, Teddy always won first in his fun matches. At six months of age he traveled to Switzerland with his sister, Rainshade Kingsmark High Society ("Gracie"), where he won 3rd place and Gracie won 2nd place in large puppy classes at the World Collie Congress in Zofingen, under U.K. judge, Audrey
Chatfield. This was a remarkable accomplishment for a 100 percent American-bred Collies competing on foreign soil.
Teddy returned to the U.S. and his promising show career was launched in Arizona where he immediately won four first places and three Reserve Winners Dogs awards, among tough competition.
Sadly, Teddy also contracted a severe respiratory infection at the shows and was immediately returned home to us. With tender loving care Teddy safely recovered, but we decided he was too precious to take any more chances and we kept him at home, safe and sound, from then on.
Teddy figures prominently
in today's Rainshade Collies' pedigrees, primarily through his daughter, Rainshade Renaissance. His outstanding qualities
and influence are reflected in his descendents.
Teddy is certified normal-eyed by the Canine Eye Registration
Foundation certificate #CO505/8-17 and is certified free of hip
dysplasia by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals certificate
#CO779G26M-T. He was test-bred clear non-carrier of progressive
retinal atrophy and non-carrier of CEA.
